Introduction

Fundamentals of semiautomatic patrol rifles; initial sighting; cleaning and maintenance; shooting positions; tactical use; ammunition selection; accuracy drills; target engagement from 7 yards to 100 yards.

Student Materials Needed for Class

Patrol rifle (semiautomatic 223/5.56), duty handgun and gear, 300 rounds rifle ammo, 50 rounds handgun ammo, drinking water, range appropriate clothing, gun cleaning materials, note taking materials, eye and ear protection. NOTE ON AMMO: approximately half of ammo needed will be fired on metal plates. NO GREEN TIP AMMO for this use.
