Overview
Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
This course will teach critical thinking decision-making skills to impact the outcome of critically injured patients. Course is hands on training to provide expert care for trauma patients. Topics include Rapid Identification of life-threatening injuries and Patient assessment. Skill stations to cover airway and ventilation and trauma interventions. After successfully completing the course, the trainee will be able to:- Analyze psycho-physiologic concepts as they relate to human responses to injury
- Describe the psycho-physiologic concepts through case studies
- Understand the principles of trauma system development, ethical dilemmas, and the application of science to nursing practice with the physiologic concepts to assure a comprehensive approach to the injured patient
- Evaluate the effectiveness of advanced trauma nursing on patient outcome
